Most companion platforms tune their characters to be maximally pleasant, which is why they all start to sound the same after a fortnight. Kupid's characters are tuned closer to fiction: they have wants that aren't you, they get irritated, and they occasionally refuse things.

That's the whole pitch, and whether it's worth it depends entirely on what you want. If you want unconditional affection, this will feel like hard work. If you want a scene that goes somewhere, nothing else in this index writes as well.

Image generation is the obvious weak point. Anime output is decent and internally consistent; realistic output has the plastic, over-smoothed look the category had two years ago.

There are also small interface annoyances that add up: editing a character mid-conversation is fiddly, the mobile layout hides the regenerate control, and long chats get sluggish to scroll after a few hundred messages.

Within one continuing storyline, memory holds up well — plot points from weeks ago come back naturally. Jump between unrelated storylines with the same character and things get muddled, with details from one bleeding into the other.

The practical workaround is one character per storyline. It's not elegant, but it removes most of the problem.
